Not to be too sensitive, but it seems like a bit of an insensitive remark considering the current instability of our economy.  Not sure why when most downsizing, we need to increase a government budget.  Before you say I hate children, I am actually very much in support of education.  However, I am not in support government largesse to a department that promotes compulsory education at the age of 4 (Pre-K), resists accountability measures and flexibility in school choice, and has done little to incentivize parental accountability.

Thanks to all those able to attend yesterday.  Good food, good beer, and great (brief) discussion.  It was great to have some new blood as well. 

As we discussed the next book on the docket is The Devil We Know.  Jacob Kurtz has been kind enough to offer to host and cook for us.  Preliminary weekends are the weekend of April 13th and April 27th.  Let us know dates and times you have available, and we can try to accomodate as much as possible.

Also, feel free to email me essays, discussion questions, supplemental reading materials, and articles.  I wish I could spend more time posting stuff, but I am happy to put up on the website material you all send.  Until next time, do all you can to promote and protect Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

March Meeting

As of now, we will meet Sunday afternoon at 2pm at the Downtown Grill and Brewery to discuss Frederic Bastiat’s The Law.  If the weather is nice, we might try to take advantage and get some fresh air.  Dig up your old ball glove etc. to have on standby.  See you Sunday at 2pm!
